Riga is one of our favourite towns and its Art Nouveau architecture is a must see. The old town with its atmospheric medieval streets is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. There is an exciting contemporary art scene led by the RIBOCA Biennale. Visit private collections and artists in their studios. The capital of Latvia has a lot to offer.
Tallinn is the breath-taking capital of Estonia with medieval stone walls and winding cobblestone streets which open into grand squares and courtyards. The city is buzzing with original contemporary architecture, not least the Rotterman Quarter. Explore architectural studios, museums after hours and private art collections. Finish the day in an old fishing village with dinner overlooking the sea.
Helsinki is a ferry ride from Tallinn and we’d recommend at least 3 nights here. Begin with an exciting city tour taking in some of the incredible contemporary buildings and eating at a superb restaurant in the Design district. Enjoy curator led visits to galleries and museums and cocktails after closing. Visit the studios of internationally acclaimed photographers, designers and artists. There is an exciting food scene here, with a nod to New Nordic Cuisine, but very much its own.
