Beyond Amsterdam

The Netherlands is packed with exciting towns and cities to visit and many are within easy reach of Amsterdam. Some of our favourites are the old towns of Haarlem, Leiden, and Utrecht, not to mention Den Haag (The Hague) the political capital of the Netherlands.

Incredible Museums

One of our favourite museums is the Mauritshuis in The Hague where almost every painting is a masterpiece. Smaller museums such as the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem are well worth visiting. Leiden, Rotterdam and Delft to name just a few towns are also teeming with museums and art collections. Your visits to these museums will be transformed by our brilliant guides and some of our tours are led by museum curators themselves.

Historical walks

These cities all have beautiful historic centres and our guides can lead you walks bringing the history and architecture to life. Leiden, a university town, is particularly attractive and so is the beautiful 17th century historic centre of Haarlem. One of our favourite paintings is Vermeer’s ‘View of Delft’ and we have a guide who can lead a fascinating walk based on it.

Houses & Gardens

Throughout the north and south of the country are some wonderful houses and gardens, from Het Loo, the summer residence of the Dutch royal family, to a host of private houses and gardens where we can arrange special access. There are also some very interesting contemporary gardens to visit.
