Originally part of the Imperial Theatres of the Russian Empire, the Bolshoi Theatre first opened in October 1856 on Tsar Alexander II’s coronation day. More recently, it opened again in 2011 after a major refurbishment.
Visit the Bolshoi with Art Tours and you will see it all. As well as the breath-taking auditorium, our guide will take you backstage to the beating heart of the theatre. Surrounded by working dancers, musicians, artistic directors, stage designers and technicians you’ll visit places closed to the public, including the rehearsal rooms and sewing workshops. And if you would like to meet performers and ballerinas that can be organised too.
