When Peter the Great founded the city in 1703, he envisaged a capital to rival London, Paris and Rome. Its reputation soon grew as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. The city is awash with opulent palaces, museums and dramatic views. Like Venice, it sits on the water, but in scale it is grander.
The Hermitage is one of the world’s greatest museums, with collections that range from the finest Old Masters to Matisse and Faberge. It also contains a superb collection of furniture and extensive collections not in view to the general public. We arrange behind the scenes visits to the museum.
The palaces of the Tsars outside the city are magnificent. We arrange special visits to all of these.
Our clients regularly enjoy a private box at the Mariinsky Theatre for opera and ballet. We can arrange for small groups to stay in a stunning private apartment in the city, filled with Russian art.
