Named after the Greek god of the winds, the beautiful Aeolian Islands are situated in the Tyrrhenian Sea north east of Sicily. These volcanic islands are secluded, but have much to offer the intrepid traveller. Lava fields, rugged coastlines, vineyards and hot springs that jet up out of the ocean bed are some of the natural phenomena to be explored on foot and by private boat. Elsewhere, wonderful archaeological sites are waiting to be discovered. Lipari’s acropolis spans 5,000 years of history and is layered with Neolithic, Bronze Age, Ancient Greek and Norman ruins. The islands offer a beautiful and relaxing escape and there are some lovely hideaways to stay. We can arrange wonderful itineraries by private boat.
